Why Most Hair Appointments Feel Rushed (and why that matters more than you think)

There’s a pace to most salon environments that people have quietly learned to accept.

You come in, there’s often overlap, movement, a sense that the next person is already waiting. The appointment gets done, your hair looks good, and you leave.

But your body knows the difference.

A rushed environment doesn’t just affect the result it affects how you feel while you’re in the chair. Your shoulders stay slightly tense. Your breath stays a little shallow. There’s an underlying awareness that time is limited.

Most people don’t name it. They just feel it.

Over time, I started noticing how much this matters.

Not in a dramatic way but in a very real, physical one.

When there’s space in an appointment, something shifts. Conversation becomes easier. Your body settles. The experience becomes something you can actually be present for, instead of something you move through.

That’s a big part of why I work the way I do now.

I don’t double book. I don’t rush through appointments to fit more people in. There’s time built in not just for the service, but for the experience of it.

Because getting your hair done isn’t only about how it looks when you leave. It’s also about how you feel while you’re here.

Most of my clients don’t come to me just for the end result.

They come because they want something that feels different.

Slower. More intentional. More personal.

And once you experience that, it’s hard to go back.

If you’ve been craving a more grounded, one-on-one experience, you’re always welcome here.

New clients usually begin with a Moon Wash + Haircut, which gives us time to reset the scalp, talk through your hair, and create a plan that actually works for you.
